The walkthrough was okay but I felt like we got a little tricked. Our backyard was all dirt and we understood it was supposed to be dirt but there had been rainstorms throughout January and people had been running around building the fence. There were huge footprints and the dirt was uneven.

The biggest problem is the site supervisor shows poor attention to detail. The subs keep taking the key and I cannot get into my own house. The company does not return calls, or provide a key. The supervisor will not return my calls to get a key to check on the work. It has been almost a week since I could get inside, and I am out there at least once a day...locked out.
As time went by, it spread and got worse. We have to clean the sand and little rocks that chip away. I walked around the houses built by LGI in my community. It seemed like that ours is the only one suffering the problem. We were allowed to see the house as it was being constructed to see the final version before we finally moved in.

I asked them if they could fix that and the rep who was showing us around said they could. But there's a little paragraph on the sign-in paperwork that says if I have any issues that need to be addressed, I need to write them out in a couple of sentences. I really wanted a new construction house and LGI Homes had some good options. So, that was another influence on my decision to go with LGI. I looked at some other builders as well, but I did my background research.
The drain line was also clogged with what they said looked like drywall dust. Other than that, we've not had too many issues. We talked it over a little bit between me and my husband and ended up deciding that this was what we needed for the time. LGI told us that it was gonna be about a six-month turnaround. You have to make sure that you review everything that they did and that you have everything in accordance with the agreement BEFORE you close on the house.
